ESOL Course development experience:

Language courses can start small...                                                As they grow and develop, they need constant maintenance.

ESOL PROJECT

August 2014 : British Council Accreditation Project.

From December 2013- August 2014 I took over the role of Director of Studies (EFL and Languages)

This role involved not only teaching, but a complete re-organisation of the educational infrastructure of the school with specific reference to EFL / ESOL.

PUT IN PLACE:

* A totally new course based on previous requirements, with downloadable lesson plans, worksheets and materials.
* Systematic student oral and written assessment pre and post course according to the CEFR scale.
* Teacher observation, the introduction of CPD and a stronger teacher training emphasis.
* Regular staff meetings and collaboration
* Development of online systems for course access and other administration and documentation.
* Creation of a variety of education and administration policy documents .
* Introduction of proper teacher recruitment and substitution policies and systems.
* Introduction of systematised schemes of work and lesson planning procedures.

GAINED:

British Council Accreditation, August 2014.

Enabling the school to move forward with a Summer School Project and attract more contracts.

If you would like help from UTTA in developing or re-shaping your educational project or designing a new course, please get in touch. We are particularly well-placed to advise on and develop language-based projects in ESL EFL ESOL or any grammatical project, work in MFL and languages areas or music and performance related developments.
